FitDarcie Gets Press

The hottest journalist at the Toronto Star, Rob Cribb, gave me some column-love.

It’ll be in the print version tomorrow. Buy it.

    Nice.

Do you agree with the other women quoted in the article?

  2. Darcie Says:

    What part?

  3. J.R. LeMar Says:

Pretty cool! Good for you! Too bad you couldn’t get in the pic with the other women, but @ least they put link to the website, hopefully that will show up in the print edition too, and will help increase web traffic here.

I was mentioned in an article on msnbc.com last year.

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32847442/ns/technology_and_science-tech_and_gadgets/

Scroll down for the quote from “”J.R. LeMar, this guy I know from Facebook.” ^_^

And you should totally put “Beguiling Toronto Enchantress” on your business cards.

Now excuse me while I go burn all of my golf shirts.

PS: To any first-time readers who have just arrived here on Fitdarcie.com from the Toronto Star: WELCOME! Feel free to scroll through the archives for some funny stories. I particularly recommend checking the Categories section, and clicking on “Dating Horror Stories” and “Gym Guy Stories.” Those are some of the funniest (& it’s okay to comment on old posts, I do it all the time). And then check back for updates.

  5. FitDarcie Says:

*muah* Thanks JR! And good job on the msnbc mention.

  6. Paul Says:

    congrats!

    @FitDarcie
    1) “Toronto guys are shoppers” –Megan

    2) “If he’s rude to service people … That’s a problem.” –Lauren

    3) “Men behave badly” –journalist’s synthesis

    Your thoughts?

  8. funluvr8 Says:

Thanks for the welcome J.R. I actually HAVE arrived here via the Star article and have been reading a lot of the posts over the weekend, both recent & archived. I particularly like the “Dating Horror Stories”. OMG…too funny…well, somewhat sad actually but still funny :). Looking forward to catching up on some of the others as well.

  9. FitDarcie Says:

@overseer- no, I don’t think Toronto men are shoppers. I think there are male sluts, sure, but you can usually spot them a mile away. Then again, when men meet me they fall in love immediately, so what do I know. Hell, I’m a shopper.

Re: service people- yes. I think people bring their best performances to dates. If they are rude on the first date, then they are probably way more rude all the time.

Re: men behaving badly- no. The reporter was male. This kinda goes back to what I was saying before about men justifying their crudeness on just being men. http://www.fitdarcie.com/boys-will-be-boys/ Men think differently than women, but this isn’t an excuse to be disrespectful or insincere.

Welcome funluvr! I’m interested in getting some of your feedback on my stories :-)

  10. J.R. LeMar Says:

@funluvr8: Don’t feel bad about enjoying FitDarcie’s misery. We all love it.

  11. FitDarcie Says:

    Thanks JR. Thanks.

  12. Randy Says:

Darcie, we all know you love the attention… : P

  13. FitDarcie Says:

I write a blog about myself. Let’s not be shocked that I love attention.

  14. FabJulie Says:

Stumbled upon this blog through the Star….spent 3 hours reading all the archives- LOVE IT! I think we could exchange stories for hours on the woes of dating in Toronto….
I am currently back on my “year of yes” campaign where I step outside my comfort zone and say yes to dates, speed dating, singles events, dating services, etc. And- it is being documented by Global TV to boot…
This blog will now be added to my daily web browsing…..it’s FABULOUS reading!

  15. FitDarcie Says:

Welcome FabJulie. There’s a book called the Year of the Yes isn’t there? I read it. It was hilarious and the motivation behind me accepting dates with men I know will be ridiculous. I hope to someday write a memoir of my own just like it.

Your show is a reality show? Name? Time it airs?

  16. FabJulie Says:

It’s actually going to be a piece on the news….which means it will be PG rated! We are looking at airing in September once we have gathered all the footage.
Dating is hard enough as is…trying asking everyone’s consent to bring a camera crew along! @FitDarcie, I sense that we are both camera whores….but can you imagine that not everyone wants to be on TV dating me?!?

  17. FitDarcie Says:

I would let someone film a first date with me because I am awesome and the world needs to know. FabJulie, I think you and I will get along just fine.

Let me know when it’s going to air!
